Projection: need to automatically qualify

CS Sacramento's resume is built more on effort than on signature results: a home victory over Presbyterian does little to impress the committee, while competitive showings against UC Santa Barbara at home and at UC Davis are the clearest evidence the team can compete with comparable foes. Those positives are undercut by ugly road defeats at UCLA, Baylor and California and a lopsided nonconference loss at CS Northridge that expose a vulnerability away from home and blunt the value of a tough out-of-conference schedule. The remaining Big Sky slate offers spots to change the narrative, with winnable assignments at home against Northern Arizona and Eastern Washington and a string of true road tests at Weber State, Montana and Montana State that will determine whether the résumé grows respectability or leaves the committee unconvinced.
